	Niigata‧Hong Kong Cultural Exchange 10th Anniversary Art Show opens to the public from now to 30th July 2005 at the Gallery of Central Learning Centre, School of Continuing Studies The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Unit A, 1/F Bank of America Tower, 12 Harcourt Road, Central, Hong Kong. The Opening Party is scheduled on Saturday 9th July 2005 4pm to 6pm. All are welcome. "Niigata - Hong Kong Cultural Exchange" was initiated in 1996 by Mr. OMI Denkichi. Omi is a famous woodblock artist from Niigata in Japan. Over the years, many times he cooperated with some art associations and artists of Hong Kong to organize a lot of art events such as artwork exhibitions, performances and workshop respectively in Hong Kong, Tokyo and some cities in Niigata. Formerly artists from two places participating in this exchange program came from various categories like national song & dance, country music, classic stringed & woodwind instruments, Western musical instrument, folk craft, Chinese painting, Western painting, printmaking, sculpture, and even popular installation art and digital art of nowadays. 2005 precisely is the tenth anniversary of this cultural activity. The Niigata - Hong Kong Cultural Exchange Executive Committee has jointly sponsored performance of music & dance as well as printmaking workshop in the last March 2005 with the Division of Language Studies, City University of Hong Kong. Deeply feeling the significances of the cultural exchange between two places, and the hard-won continuity of ten years, Omi then invited some Hong Kong artists who had participated in the past events to accomplish this 10-Anni art show as celebration. Exhibitors of "Niigata - Hong Kong Cultural Exchange 10th Anniversary Art Show" are Mr. Omi, FUSE Atsushi (Famous Lucky Cat Painter in Japan), and Hong Kong's WONG Yin-Wah, Judith LUI Wai-Chu, THAM Yim-Ha, Erica LAU, LAU Kam-Hung, MAK Wing, Patrick S. FORD, CHU Kar-Kui, LEUNG Yiu-Wah, Henry LAW and Alannala LAU. Exhibits include printmaking, Chinese painting, oils, acrylics, watercolor and drawing. There are different subject matters such as scenery, portrait, flower-and-bird, fish... etc. Audiences could also find different styles like fine brushwork, freehand brushwork, realistic, abstractive and expressionistic.
